Total Number of Books I’ve Owned:
See, I KNEW that my quarterly home book count would one day come in handy! Since I seem to move every two years, I like to trade in or sell books as much as possible. This would have to be a guess. And since I’ve been an avid reader since I was four, I’m going to guess 8,001. I’ve owned 8,001 books in my my life.
Wait - are we supposed to include pornography?
The Last Book I Bought:
The Yiddish Policeman’s Union by Michael Chabon. I’m about twenty pages into this meshuggunah book.
The Last Book I Read:
The Big Girls by Susanna Moore; Joe Turner’s Come and Gone by August Wilson, Crossing the River by Caryl Phillips, Talking Back by bell hooks. Yeah, I know that’s more than one book, but I had to read all of these books in one week for school. It all turned into one big character mash-up in my head, so I’m counting them as ONE BOOK.
